Four years after showing the prototype, Tesla has finally launched Cybertruck.
With many world’s first production vehicle systems,Tesla Cybertruck has really shaken vehicle markets.This seems to be brave and difficult move but again it’s Tesla who does it and has guts to do it. Apart from the futuristic out of space movie designs which you love or hate,Tesla has brought many first in production vehicle technology or system which were showcased by others but never came into production.
Steer by wire in Tesla Cybertruck
First in production vehicle full steer by wire.Wherein there is no physical connection between the steering wheel and front wheels.Complete steering is controlled by sensors which take input from steering wheel and send it to steering column which has two separate electric motor ,one for each wheel on front .Rear has one motor for both wheels
48Volt architecture in Tesla Cybertruck
Car industry is still stuck with 12Volt system for complete vehicle since 1970 .We have seen few 48 volts system for specific functions but no vehicle manufacturer has dared to switch to 48 volt as even suppliers are not ready for this. But Tesla being Tesla has done it and going further has send every car manufacturer CEO a handbook of How to Design a 48 volt vehicle.
In House Design,Development,Production of Batteries
Cybertruck uses 1,366 cells in its battery pack. These are 4680 cells that are designed,developed and produced in-house by Tesla.The 4680 are able to store more energy and release more power without heating and cost far less to produce.
Exoskeleton Design
Tesla Cybertruck uses Exoskeleton made from material called HFS a custom alloy developed in-hous.As per Tesla outside of Cybertruck is so strong that it doesn’t require side impact door beams.This is also proved by Tesla with some testing videos.
Conclusion
By changing the conventional Pickup truck design in cybertruck Tesla doesn’t seem to have learned a lesson from model x gull wing doors which took so much time and research to bring to reality.Tesla model Y which is conventional design is best selling vehicle for Tesla than model X.Same could be done with Cybertruck by using conventional Pickup truck design and bringing vehicle earlier and selling it like hot cakes. But Tesla being Tesla knows if not Tesla then who.
